Employee Development Opportunity

Ebates is the first company in the Rockford region to offer it's employees the "RVC Hour of Code" as an employee development opportunity.

Ebates is a company that gives customers cash back for purchasing product through its website. They are also a company that gives their employees a fun and creative atmosphere to work. Over a dozen employees gathered at 10am today to participate in this unique employee development opportunity! Regardless the vocation, learning how to code helps learn technical and critical thinking skills needed in a job types. In addition, it bridges the technical divide most companies have between technical and non-technical job types.

The "RVC Hour of Code" goal & motto is for everyone in the Rockford region to complete an hour of code. The lessons learned while learning to code are basic computer science concepts like step by step programming logic, object and action interaction and debugging applications.

If your company is interested in offering this training to your employees, please email Chuck Konkol at c.konkol@rockvalleycollege.edu.

Play Time: Play Apps Created By Ebates Employees!

The "RVC Hour of Code" uses drag and drop coding to teach the basics of computer science. Employees completed 10 code puzzles to finally create their very own version of a "Flappy Bird" type gaming app.

Visit the following links to play the game apps created by Ebates employees.
Apps can be played on all phones, tablets and computers with internet connectivity.
