  • July 2 - Wayfinding with code
  • August 6 - Spritebox coding
  • September 3 - Robot battle
  • October 1 - Brick breaker
  • November 5 - Coding galaxy - adventure planet
  • December 3 - Animated holiday card

About
The first Hour of Code event at Rock Valley College was on December 12th, 2015. The event brought 126 people from the Rockford Region to learn more about Computer Science fundamentals and coding! To keep this momentum going Professor Chuck Konkol of Rock Valley College started hosting monthly Hour of Code Workshops! 

​Hour of Code workshops are FREE and OPEN TO PUBLIC! The workshops are scheduled the 1st Tuesday of the month at CherryVale Mall.

  • Fun, hands on learning about coding
  • Unplugged and online learning
  • Perfect for ages 5 and up!
  • Raffle prizes
  • Information about CIS Computer Science and Coding Courses offered at Rock Valley College

National Hour of Code Program
The ultimate national goal is to get 10 million students to try computer science for one hour. In addition, the Hour of Code demystifies computer science and coding. For more information about this nation-wide event visit hourofcode.com/us. 

Early College: Options for High School Students

Want to earn college credits while you’re still in high school? We offer many opportunities for you to do that and we provide services and support to enroll you in college credit courses for Dual Credit*, Dual Enrollment**, and/or Articulated Credit. We encourage you and your parents to explore the option that is best for you!
