Coming Soon! {Rockford Code Camp)

6/18/2020

Concept
#ComingSoon {Rockford Code Camp} is designed to teach at risk youth in the Rockford region, ages 12-18. {Rockford Code Camp} will teach students the basics of mobile app web development. JavaScript, HTML5, and WebGL technologies will be taught. These web languages and libraries have been been used to create games and extensively used in Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, PayPal, Apple.

Goal
The goal of {Rockford Code Camp} is to reach area students ages 12-18 who don’t play sports but are interested in technology.

Cost & Delivery
There will be no cost to students for the 4 week online course. Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted we are looking for a location on the west side of Rockford.

Future & Thanks
Our hope is to have this program ready to launch by August 1st.

I would like to thank State Representative Maurice West for his support on this vital program for area youth!

Chuck Konkol, Community Technologist and Professor at Rock Valley College

This project is part of RVC Hour of Code

Locally Sponsored
To offset development and management cost of {Rockford Code Camp} local area businesses will have opportunity to sponsor program at different levels.
